How it Works: A Micro Dust Sensor Unit is a sensing device used to detect the amount of particles in the air, such as pollen, dust, smoke and fur of animals, by using an optical system.

The Dust Sensor operates on the principle of light scattering method. The sensor is designed to detect the particles whose size is over 1 micro-meter, which means it can detect both cigarette smoke and house dust. The Micro Dust sensor unit detects the amount of particles per unit volume.
